Job Summary:
As an Electrical Field Superintendent, you will lead and supervise a team of craft professionals on various tasks. Your responsibilities will include directing daily activities, managing work schedules, and coordinating subcontractor tasks and team development. You will ensure that all team members have the necessary tools and resources to work safely and efficiently, adhere to project policies and job site rules and regulations, and meet project specifications, timelines, and budgets. Major Responsibilities:
Planning / Productivity Participates in the preparation of construction drawings and sketches. Participates in the development of planning construction methods and procedures. Develops projections and schedules for workforce, material and equipment requirements Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site. Prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive. Safety / Quality Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management. Technical Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents Participates in the coordination of engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of a single or multi-discipline construction or engineering operation. Knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy. Knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, the Project Safety Management Plan and the Bechtel Core Processes. Ability to implement and manage a lock-out tag-out (LOTO) plan. Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities. Knowledge of Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs). Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE. Knowledge related to the installation of underground direct bury cable installation, above ground cable and equipment installation, all required terminations, and all subsequent testing procedures and requirements. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards. Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment. Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor’s responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
