Job Summary
To oversee the pre-test, set-up, operation and maintenance of various audio‑visual, videography equipment and systems.
Major Duties / Critical Tasks
Provides guidance and mentoring in the professional development of individuals
Provides team support regarding technical expertise, problem resolution/troubleshooting, training, coaching, and team facilitation
Provides leadership and training to Audio‑Visual Technicians and Senior Audio‑Visual Technicians in the installation and repair of audio visual equipment.
Assists in the development of policies and procedures.
Instructs customers on the proper use of equipment
Ensures the delivery and set up audio visual equipment for programs and lectures including the regulation of lights and sound for proper presentation
Installs and repairs cable and satellite system, jacks and other necessary equipment and software in auditoriums/classrooms.
Designs/installs security systems
Provides estimates for design/install and repair of audio‑visual systems.
Trouble shoots and provides minor repairs to audio visual and related equipment.
Oversees the planning/design/installation of audio‑visual and systems and special effects lighting set‑ups.
Oversees the operation of complex events and the maintenance of special facilities.
Operates cable TV and satellite system
Provides video editing and shooting as needed
Supports Information Services with teleconference events/services
Negotiates equipment prices for audio visual pool and auditoriums
Maintains inventory of supplies
Assists in the evaluation of hardware and software products
Stays current with applicable UTMB, State and Federal rules and regulations
Serves as a consultant to faculty and administration in the application of Educational Technology
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
Performs related duties as required.
Required Education / Experience Associate’s degree or equivalent in digital media or related field and two years related experience.
Equipment Pre-test, set-up and operate the following equipment: 35mm slide projector, overhead projector, amplifier, microphones, public address system, probable podiums, audio/visual accessories liquid crystal projector (LCP) computer for projection purposes, custom lighting, document cameras, auditoriums systems, videography, cameras, editing and duplicating systems, VCR and monitor.
Working Environment Highly technical multimedia environment.

Contract Information *This is a contract position through UTMB HealthCare Systems Staffing. While there are no UTMB benefits associated with this position, the contractor will have the ability to participate in the 401k retirement program through Healthcare Systems Staffing.
Compensation
Hiring Range: $21.00
