GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Marketing Assistant provides professional support for Citywide marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts. This position assists in the development and execution of marketing strategies that promote City programs, services, events, and initiatives. The Marketing Assistant works collaboratively with City departments to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent communication with residents, businesses, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in creating, editing, and distributing content for City communication channels, including social media, website, e-newsletters, print materials, and digital signage.
Support planning and execution public outreach efforts, including on-site assistance as needed.
Maintain and organize digital assets, including photos, graphics, templates, and content archives.
Assist with basic graphic design and layout using approved City templates and branding standards.
Track and compile basic performance metrics for marketing and communication efforts and assist with reporting.
Conduct research to support marketing campaigns, community engagement initiatives, and special projects.
Assist with public relations efforts, including gathering information for press releases, media advisories, and talking points.
Coordinate with multiple City departments to collect information and promote programs and services.
Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, purchase orders, meeting preparation, and documentation.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Equivalent 2 years related experience and/or training preferred.
