POSITION PURPOSE Responsible for handling member loan requests and all aspects of processing, documentation, follow-up and support for all loans and activities of the Consumer Lending Department. Audits loan files for compliance and completeness. Verifies that all loan images have been transferred to imaging system. Processes loan applications and prepares and disburses loans. Completes prepping, indexing, and scanning processes on loan records, titles, and miscellaneous documents in accordance with established policies and procedures. Handles collateral perfection and tracking, quality control, loan payments, payoffs, and lien releases. Prepares and handles miscellaneous paperwork and maintains loan files. Answers and directs telephone calls and emails related to consumer lending requests. Provides professional service to members and prospective members.

This position requires fluency in Spanish.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES SERVICE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assumes responsibility for the effective and timely support of lending functions.

Processes all types of Consumer Loan applications. Pulls credit reports, clarifies, and verifies income and other information as necessary, provides disclosures, prepares credit summary and prepares loan documentation.

Disburses loans as appropriate and performs quality control on the loan file and documents.

Sends Adverse Action Notices as required.

Keeps Consumer Lending Manager and other staff informed of loan activities, progress toward established objectives, and any significant problems.

Follows up and ensures collateral is adequately protected with property insurance. Answers customer inquiries and resolves discrepancies.

Cross sells credit union services as appropriate.

Processes GAP and debt protection claims and payments.

Completes required reports and related documents; compiles information promptly and accurately and in compliance with departmental and JHFCU guidelines, policies, and policies.

Ensures members, vendors and others are properly informed of Credit Union loan policies and procedures.

Ensures requests, problems, and questions are promptly resolved.

Ensures the Credit Union’s professional reputation is maintained throughout lending and business transactions with members, vendors and others.

OTHER DUTIES:

Remains compliant with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to BSA and the USA Patriot Act

Education/certification and experience

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Credit Union or similar financial institution to include both Consumer and Home Equity loan processing, documentation, and disbursement, collateral maintenance and perfection

Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Fluency in Spanish
