Account Manager
Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive revenue growth through proactive account management and new business development. This role is responsible for expanding existing customer relationships, developing new accounts, and serving as the primary customer-facing liaison across sales, quality, and operations.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in sales, is comfortable with cold calling and consultative selling, and thrives in an environment that blends sales strategy, operational coordination, and customer service leadership.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow existing accounts while developing new business through proactive outreach
Conduct consistent outbound sales activity focused on small-to-mid-sized customers
Maintain accurate customer data, sales activity, and opportunity tracking using CRM and Excel
Build strong product and market knowledge to support effective pricing and recommendations
Coordinate and track product samples from request through customer follow-up
Manage customer quality issues, including initiating and tracking Corrective Action Requests (CARs)
Generate and analyze sales reports, comparing performance to budget and prior results
Identify and support marketing initiatives, including trade shows and industry events
Provide leadership and support to Customer Service and Internal Sales teams
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred
5+ years of sales experience, including leadership responsibility
Required experience in plastic extrusion or plastic packaging
Proven success in account management, new business development, and customer retention
Proficiency with CRM/ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Business Central a plus
Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Confident phone presence with excellent organization and follow‑up
Willingness to travel, visit manufacturing facilities, and attend industry events
Valid driver’s license
Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000-100,000
