Full-Time position working 40 hours per week
Easterseals Florida is seeking a detail-oriented, supportive, and highly organized Family Intake Specialist to coordinate the timely initiation of referrals to the Early Steps Program. This role is essential in helping families begin their Early Steps journey by ensuring children are quickly and accurately connected to developmental evaluations and the services they may be entitled to under IDEA, Part C.
The Family Intake Specialist serves as a warm, communicative, and responsive resource for families as they navigate the intake and referral process. You will gather key information, explain Early Steps procedures, schedule evaluations, and ensure that all required documentation meets policy standards. Your work will directly support families in accessing early intervention services during an important time in their child’s development.
What You’ll Do
Provide general front-office support, including answering phone calls, managing faxes, filing, and charting
Receive and review referrals to ensure all required information has been provided
Share information with families about Early Steps and guide them through the intake process
Obtain and verify essential referral details, including date of birth, spelling of names, contact information, and reason for referral
Schedule developmental evaluation appointments with families and communicate appointment details
Assign service coordinators to referrals and notify them of upcoming clinic appointments
Maintain timeliness and compliance with program policies and documentation standards
Manage appointment books, prepare clinic sheets, and maintain organized patient files
Ensure all documentation meets Early Steps procedures and quality requirements

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
General office or administrative experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Basic written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with computers and ability to learn program systems
Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing needs
Professional, energetic, and team-oriented mindset
