Position Summary
This position will create, design, and disseminate all marketing and communications efforts for the Office of Alumni and Development. The primary responsibility will be refreshing the department website content in effort to create an engaging on-line presence of the Alumni and development activities, as well as being responsible for content creation and posting and monitoring of department social media channels. Additional design work for the development and stewardship team is required as well as participation in all department sponsored events and activities.
This position is an exempt, APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.
Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, some nights, and weekends.
Responsible for the online presence of the Alumni and Development Office and its various entities including maintenance and oversight of the department’s social media and website.
Create, design, and disseminate marketing and communication projects using print and digital communication channels to convey the university’s fundraising needs and engagement opportunities to various constituencies (i.e., donors, alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff, foundations, community leaders, corporate partners, etc.).
Gather and create department-specific content for multi-channel outreach including print materials, web stories, e-mails, social media, newsletter features and event promotion.
Create and maintain alumni & development web content, social media content, newsletter features, and e-mail blasts.
Attend & photograph Alumni & Development sponsored events and maintain photography database.
Responsible for writing, producing, and publishing monthly Alumni & Development Newsletter.
Create and maintain online materials including registration forms, scholarship recipient profiles, and other collateral as assigned.
Collaborate with Development Team on crowdfunding activities, such as Giving Day, Giving Tuesday, and the Crimson Pride Challenge.
Assist in the promotion of Scholarships.
Develop and collaborate on marketing and registration materials for all events including Bridgewater Alumni Association and Alumni Affinity Groups.
Collaborate on joint initiatives and coordinate marketing efforts with BSU’s Office of Marketing and Communications when requested.
Work on special projects as determined by the Director of Alumni and Student Engagement.
Working knowledge of social media best practices and analytics
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
2. Experience in designing marketing and communications materials, including print, web, digital and social media
3. Experience with the following platforms: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Drupal, and all Adobe products
4. Must possess excellent writing, editing and communication skills
5. Ability to work well with minimal supervision and in a collaborative setting
6. Ability to produce high quality work under tight deadlines
7. Ability to actively contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
8. Must be positive, collaborative, diligent, and capable of managing multiple priorities/projects
9. Some nights and weekends may be required
