We’re seeking a
Corporate Communications Manager
to join us in our mission to transform the way therapeutics and advanced materials are discovered. This is a new role within Corporate Affairs and the role will report to the Executive Director of Corporate Affairs.
Schrödinger has pioneered a physics-based software platform that enables discovery of high-quality, novel chemistries for materials applications and drug development more rapidly and at lower cost compared to traditional methods. The software platform is used by biopharmaceutical and industrial companies, academic institutions, and government laboratories around the world.

What you’ll do:
Partner with the Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, Marketing, Materials Science, and Life Science teams to develop and execute materials science and life science communications and media relations plans to support company goals and objectives
Help develop Materials Science message platform for multiple verticals
Cultivate strong relationships with key reporters and pitch stories to the media
Create key communications materials, including press releases, Q&A documents, company presentations, fact sheets, media statements, and op-eds
Team up with scientists to write blogs and educational articles, and identify opportunities for scientific communications
Identify thought leadership opportunities (including speaking and written) for life science and material science leaders
Collaborate with the marketing team to amplify efforts and maintain brand consistency
Proactively identify potential challenges and develop issue-management plans
Support the company website and blog and ensure a cohesive voice and tone
Support company communications related to corporate social responsibility and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) initiatives
Support internal communications, including quarterly newsletter development and quarterly All-Hands meeting
Foster competitive intelligence efforts, monitor media coverage, and pinpoint opportunities to participate in industry dialogue
What you should have:
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, materials science, or a related field
At least five years of communications experience in a relevant industry
Familiarity with materials science technology
Ability to frame stories and issues for the press and a sophisticated understanding of science as it relates to contemporary issues and debates
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on occasion
