Overview Of Responsibilities
Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
Effectively coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
Maintain freshness standards throughout the department, following proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation of a variety of items.
Lead a team that delivers top‑quality product, high service, and an engaging customer experience.
Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team.
Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain produce equipment.
Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other team members follow these procedures.
Thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
Minimum 18 years old with basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
Dependable and reliable with flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Outgoing, friendly behavior with positive attitude; able to interact with customers.
Good communication skills; takes direction and participates in a team environment.
Perform general housekeeping: clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer).
Adhere to safety, health, weights, and measures regulations; maintain Food Handlers permit.
Perform physical tasks: standing, walking, bending, climbing; lift up to 50 lbs. up to 3 ft. over 10‑50 hrs without assistance.
Use pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 ft. requiring up to 85 lbs. for up to 5 hrs.
