We are looking for a Datacom Quotations Specialist to join our Rexel team in Houston, TX!
The Datacom Quotations Specialist is responsible for establishing relationships with customers and vendors to secure pricing positions for bids. They review bid packages, formulate project quotations, and provide product knowledge to ensure competitive proposals.
What You’ll Do
Quote low‑to‑moderate profile/complex projects
Review bid package and all required technical, commercial, and documentation requirements
Collaborate with Outside Sales or branches to strategize each proposal request
Format customer requests into a standardized spreadsheet for bid review
Break down the bid package, issue RFQs to vendors, and communicate deadlines and details
Receive pricing and compile bid tabulations for review
Prepare and submit final proposals with all required documentation
Negotiate pricing with suppliers and suggest substitute products when appropriate
Participate in product meetings, seminars, and training to enhance product knowledge
Meet with the team to discuss vendor strategy and margin levels
Establish and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
Use digital tools to promote and demonstrate product knowledge to new and existing customers
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
2+ years of customer service, project management, or related experience preferred
Experience with electrical distribution, lighting, controls, or adjacent industry preferred
High School or GED required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong organizational skills
Develop product and application knowledge
Customer oriented with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills
Computer skills: Excel, Outlook, Word, PDF editor (Bluebeam or Adobe), and quoting tools

Collaborate with sales team, customers, and vendors
