The Director of Housing Services is responsible for the leadership, management, and oversight of all Housing Services operations at GLCC. This includes guest room readiness, public area cleanliness, staff supervision, and operational effectiveness across facilities. This position works closely with and provides direct oversight to the Assistant Director(s) of Housing Services, partnering with department leadership to lead day-to-day operations, develop team members, manage staffing and schedules, ensure consistent guest service, and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hospitality. The ideal candidate is a servant leader, coach, and mentor, focused on developing a high-performing team, fostering professional growth, promoting accountability, and creating a Christ-centered, guest-focused environment. Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Staff Development (40%)

Lead, mentor, and develop Housing Services staff to ensure consistent delivery of clean, safe, and guest-ready accommodations. Provide guidance and oversight to Assistant Director(s), promoting leadership growth, team unity, and alignment with departmental and organizational goals. Partner with HR to recruit, hire, onboard, and train Housing Services staff and volunteers. Promote a culture of hospitality, professionalism, teamwork, and accountability. Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations. Develop and maintain year-round and seasonal staffing plans, ensuring sufficient coverage and operational readiness. Proactively address employee relations issues, performance concerns, and workplace conflicts with care and professionalism. Operational Oversight (40%)

Manage daily staff schedules, payroll tracking, and time-off requests accurately through designated systems. Oversee supply inventory, equipment distribution, and operational readiness of all Housing Services areas. Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and storage spaces to maintain quality, safety, and hospitality standards. Maintain and audit building keys, radios, and secure storage systems to ensure accountability and security. Develop, implement, and update standard operating procedures to align with operational needs and organizational standards. Partner with Facilities and Hospitality leadership to enhance the guest experience and operational efficiency. Manage departmental budget in partnership with Finance, monitoring expenses and ensuring fiscal stewardship. Guest and Event Services (10%)

Collaborate with program teams to ensure housing accommodations meet guest expectations during retreats, conferences, and special events. Partner with Guest Services and Conference Services teams to proactively address and resolve guest concerns. Be present and responsive during high-volume periods or special events to support staff and guest needs. Ensure a welcoming, safe, and Christ-centered environment for all guests. Strategic Planning and Mission Integration (10%)

Collaborate across departments to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and create better, simpler processes while advancing GLCC’s mission. Align Housing Services operations with organizational values, long-range goals, and stewardship initiatives. Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, staffing models, and overall guest satisfaction. Foster a culture of Christian care, professionalism, and service within the Housing Services team. Mentor staff in decision-making and leadership growth consistent with GLCC’s mission and values. Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with property management and people management software a plus. Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred. Minimum of 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience required Experience leading a variety of staffing models, including seasonal staff and/or volunteers is strongly preferred. Experience in large group housing or retreat center operations is a plus. Schedule & Commitment

Full-time position, with benefits and flexible scheduling based on organizational needs. Typical work hours are flexible between 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Sunday–Saturday Primarily 1st shift with rotation of evening and/or weekend responsibilities based on guest volume and departmental needs.
