Comfort Systems USA Southwest is seeking a Conceptual Estimator for our estimating department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze blueprints, project front ends, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare a complete project estimate.
Utilize Quick Pen and/or TSI estimating software.
Use MS Office products with emphasis on Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Understand HVAC and plumbing industry standards, including local/national codes and standards for HVAC, piping and plumbing systems.
Determine labor and material costs in compliance with SMACNA and MCAA labor standards.
Estimate HVAC and plumbing systems and be familiar with the opposite trade.
Prepare HVAC & plumbing budgets.
Calculate costs associated with square‑foot budgets.
Prepare estimates and proposals and assist in procuring submittals.
Follow up with clients on all bids and bid results.
Maintain file management.
Read and interpret documents such as project specifications, project front ends, and contract documents.
Qualifications
Five to eight years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and piping industry codes and standards.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
