The Opportunity We are looking for an energetic and ambitious Marketing Manager with 7 to 10 years of experience to join our team. In this dynamic role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for building and developing our marketing program, structure, and efforts from the ground up. The ideal candidate for this opportunity is a strategic thinker with strong attention to detail, can work independently, has high emotional intelligence to effectively collaborate with diverse communication styles and personalities, and has a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. This is an onsite position based in either our San Diego or Northern California office, with occasional travel as required.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic guidance to leadership by managing marketing research and planning process; develop, track and report progress on appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs), developing data driven budgets
Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute a business development plan; manage, support, and drive business development efforts
Identify, qualify, and lead business development efforts, including direct engagement with team members, clients, and referral sources
Manage and maintain client relationship management (CRM) system, including associated policies, procedures, and programs to support the company's marketing and business development efforts
Recommend, develop, and maintain promotional materials; collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to establish strategy, make go/no-go decisions, and develop content and deliverables for pre-qualifications, qualifications, proposals, and presentations
Lead initiatives to define and maintain the company's brand including graphics, content, messaging, public relations, special events, awards submittals, communications, and the production of proposals and interview materials
Represent the company at relevant industry associations; drive coordinated marketing and business development efforts by advising and supporting staff
Oversee, evaluate, and maintain the company website and social media platforms, providing recommendations to enhance performance and engagement
Plan and coordinate company and client events, including industry conferences, in collaboration with internal staff and teams
Coach and mentor team members to support growth initiatives
Additional responsibilities as required
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Management, Marketing or Communications or similar field and 7 - 10 years of experience, preferrable in the Engineering/Construction industry; or Associates degree and 12 or years of experience, preferrable in the Engineering/Construction industry
Proven marketing and/or business development experience in the Engineering or Construction industries, including proposal prep and interview management, content and graphic development, and multi-channel marketing across digital, print and social platforms
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) with strong graphic layout skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) required
Experience with Deltek/Vantagepoint CRM software highly desired
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail; service-oriented mindset; and ability to effectively engage with diverse communication styles and personalities
Professional, positive, and collaborative demeanor, thriving in an office environment and working effectively with highly technical, creative, and detail-oriented team members
Experience and knowledge with both public and private markets, including local markets, a plus
We offer a generous salary and benefits package that includes company paid medical and dental insurance, vacation and a 401(k) plan. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000, depending upon experience. Only qualified candidates that meet our requirements will be contacted.
