Overview
The Director Marketing and Business Development ensures prompt and timely dissemination of information about the hospital and its physicians to the public, to hospital staff and volunteers affiliated with the institution; places Advertising as needed; develops and produces current printed materials for hospital services and events; cultivates professional relationships with members of the media and representatives of community organizations; serves as hospital spokesperson for media inquiries. Responsible for internal employee engagement marketing events and external community marketing events. The Director Marketing and Business Development is responsible for coordinating, planning and executing development strategies and programs to promote all services of Dekalb Regional Medical Center and Dekalb Physician Network. The position is responsible for communicating Dekalb Regional Medical Center and Dekalb Physician Network information to customers and referral sources to include physicians, office staff, community service organizations and others. This includes duties associated with the recruitment and servicing of physicians and physician extenders.
Responsibilities · Maintains rapport and good communication with department directors to secure information needed for crafting printed material.
· Information regarding community programs is distributed and published in a timely manner to promote desired attendance at events.
· Determine appropriate vendors/resources needed for production of printed materials, design services and video production.
· Responsible for coordinating information for Hospital Website and collaborating with the Information Systems Department to ensure information remains current.
· Craft annual media/marketing plan according to services and product lines in conjunction with advertising agency.
· Maintain contact with department directors to develop appropriate advertising messages.
· Determine appropriate vendors/resources for production of advertising media, i.e. newspaper, radio, cable TV, direct mail, etc.
· Ad placements are carried out according to schedule.
· Secure answers to questions from the news media in a timely fashion.
· Prepare media kits and position statements for special events/occurrences.
· Maintain and update various policy statements and protocols related to marketing and public relations.
· Meets with daily newspaper editor periodically and maintains regular telephone contact.
· Cultivates contacts via attendance at community events, Chamber of Commerce Meetings, etc., and serves on committees as appropriate.
· Maintains in-house photography equipment in good working order.
· Coordinates, plans and executes development strategies and programs to promote all services
· Coordinates, plans and executes internal employee engagement marketing events and external community marketing events.
· Recruitment and servicing of physicians and physician extenders.
Qualifications Education Required:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Journalism/English/Communications/Marketing.
Education Preferred : Master's degree in related field desirable.
Experience:
3-5 Years experience in communications field with demonstrated writing, desktop publishing and advertising design skills.
Healthcare environment preferred.
