Position Overview
The Automotive Parts Advisor supports the service department by ensuring the correct parts are identified, ordered, and delivered accurately and on time. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
Responsibilities
Assist service technicians and advisors with accurate parts identification and availability
Help customers in person, by phone, or online with parts inquiries and orders
Provide guidance on OEM parts, compatibility, pricing, and availability
Maintain an organized and accurate parts inventory
Receive, inspect, and properly stock incoming parts shipments
Process parts orders using dealership management software (DMS)
Prepare parts for internal delivery or customer pickup
Handle returns, cores, and exchanges with proper documentation
Communicate clearly regarding backorders, ETAs, and part issues
Recommend additional parts or accessories when appropriate
Follow all safety procedures and dealership policies
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Dealership parts experience preferred
Familiarity with dealership DMS systems (CDK experience a plus)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment
Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Performance Expectations

Timely support of service department needs
Organized inventory and accountability
Professional communication with customers and internal teams
