A well established, commercial construction company with an excellent reputation for completing projects in the Greater Philadelphia market/ local tristate area (PA/NJ/DE), is actively seeking to add an experienced Senior / Lead / Chief Estimator (titles vary company to company).
The Senior / Lead / Chief Estimator is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all estimating functions for commercial construction projects. This individual provides strategic direction, ensures accuracy and competitiveness of bids, mentors estimating staff, and partners with executive leadership to drive profitable growth. The role requires deep industry expertise, strong leadership capability, and a proven ability to manage complex, multi-discipline commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including hard bids, negotiated work, design-build, and conceptual estimates.
Oversee quantity takeoffs, pricing, subcontractor solicitation, scope review, leveling, and bid analysis.
Develop and maintain standardized estimating procedures, templates, and best practices.
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and risk exposure.
Provide value engineering recommendations and alternative pricing strategies to improve project profitability.
Team Management & Development
Manage, mentor, and develop estimating staff; assign workloads and ensure adherence to schedules and deadlines.
Establish performance expectations and provide technical guidance and professional development opportunities.
Serve as the senior technical authority for estimating-related decisions and dispute resolution.
Strategic & Financial Oversight
Collaborate with executive leadership, project management, and operations teams to align estimating strategies with company goals.
Analyze historical cost data and market trends to improve pricing accuracy and forecasting.
Participate in go/no-go decisions and risk assessments for prospective projects.
Support budgeting, cost controls, and transition from preconstruction to project execution.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Lead or support client presentations, bid reviews, and negotiation meetings.
Ensure subcontractor and vendor pricing is comprehensive, blonde, and contractually compliant.
Qualifications
An experienced seasoned individual with ten or more years of progressive experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on commercial construction.
Proven experience estimating large ground up, addition or renovation projects across multiple sectors (e.g., commercial, healthcare, institutional, academic/education, hospitality), $10-30+ million dollars in value.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring estimating teams.
Expert knowledge of construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and market pricing.
Proficiency with estimating software and tools
Strong understanding of contract types, procurement methods, and risk management.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management ცენტრ, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or CCM.
Experience with large-scale or complex commercial projects ($10M+).
Experience supporting design-build or integrated project delivery (IPD) models.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen
Decisive and detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and accountability
Strong right communicator capable of influencing executives and project stakeholders
Mentor and team builder with a collaborative leadership style
