Associate Technical Designer One of our fashion clients is looking for an Associate Technical Designer to join the team ASAP. This is a freelance role with the possibility of becoming permanent if it’s a good fit. The role is based in NYC and is fully in office five days a week. Role pays $30 per hour, 40 hours per week. Employment Type: Freelance / Contract Department: Product Development / Technical Design Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Freelance Technical Designer to work in‑office five days a week, supporting the development of Junior and Missy apparel . This role is responsible for creating detailed technical packages and CADs , ensuring accuracy from design handoff through production. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced apparel environment. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain complete technical packages (tech packs) for Junior and Missy woven and/or knit styles Develop accurate CADs including flats, construction details, and colorways Prepare and update measurement specs, grading, and construction callouts Collaborate closely with Design, Product Development, and Production teams Review samples for fit, construction, and workmanship; provide clear corrections and comments Ensure all styles meet brand standards, quality expectations, and production requirements Track and update revisions throughout the development process Support timelines to ensure on‑time sample approvals and production readiness Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Technical Design for apparel Strong experience with Junior and Missy categories Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (CADs/flats) Solid understanding of garment construction, fit, and grading Ability to create clear, detailed, and production‑ready tech packs Strong communication skills with both internal teams and overseas vendors Ability to work on‑site, 5 days per week Highly organized with strong attention to detail Seniority level Associate Employment type Temporary Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at SBH Fashion by 2x. #J-18808-Ljbffr
