Freelance Fashion Designer – Woven Menswear & Kidswear This freelance opportunity is ideal for an experienced fashion designer with a passion for woven apparel and a deep understanding of the UK retail landscape. The role centers on developing a comprehensive range of tailored trousers, men's shirts, and structured kids' playwear for the 2026/27 season. The successful candidate will collaborate remotely to create innovative, commercially viable designs that align with current and emerging trends, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and material innovation. A portfolio demonstrating both commercial success and forward‑thinking concepts is essential, as is the ability to translate creative ideas into detailed Tech Packs for production. Deliverables Design a full collection of woven menswear and kidswear, including tailored trousers, shirts, and playwear Develop detailed Tech Packs for each design, specifying materials, construction, and finishing details Research and incorporate UK market trends and consumer preferences into all designs Source and recommend sustainable materials, such as organic hemp and recycled blends Present mood boards, sketches, and final concepts for review and feedback Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are production‑ready and meet quality standards Revise and refine designs based on feedback from stakeholders Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in woven design for menswear and/or kidswear Strong portfolio showcasing commercial and innovative woven collections In‑depth knowledge of UK fashion trends and retail market dynamics Expertise in sustainable materials, including organic and recycled blends Advanced proficiency in creating Tech Packs and working with various woven constructions Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting Strong attention to detail and ability to balance creativity with commercial viability Availability to collaborate across time zones as needed About Twine Twine is a leading freelance marketplace connecting top freelancers, consultants, and contractors with companies needing creative and tech expertise.
