Pre-weigher
Title: Pre-weigher
Reports to: Bulk Manufacturing Manager
Department: Operations
Responsibility Summary The Pre-weigh personnel are responsible for the raw material weighing in support of the manufacturing of bulk products. All work requires accurate documentation, performance & adherence to SOPs in order to meet requirements set by our customers & the FDA. Pre-weigh personnel must be detail oriented, with strong basic math skills.
Responsibilities
Clean, sanitize and calibrate scales at the beginning of each working day.
Complete and verify pre-weigh documentation as required.
Use scales, computer, and scanners to measure and record raw material transactions.
Operate various material handling equipment to move materials to and from pallet racks.
Follow instructions on pre weigh sheet/batch records, SOP’s, and departmental procedures.
Identify and communicate discrepancies with materials, products or equipment immediately to the manager.
Pull all raw materials by FIFO.
Verify and document all lot numbers that are being consumed in batch.
Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance and working area.
Wear personal protective equipment as required.
Qualifications
Physical & Other Requirements:
No allergies or sensitivities to chemicals or required personal protective equipment.
Good overall physical condition.
Able move up to 50 pound bags or drums.
Able to handle full 55 gallon drums.
Able to work independently and as a team member.
Blending and mixing ingredients experience.
Forklift experience a plus.
Demonstrates attention to detail.
Computer literate.
Education Requirements:
High school education or equivalent.
Or 1-2 year pre weighing experience.
Good communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
Good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common weighing procedures, safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals of scales.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients & customers.
Additional Information This is a full-time contract position. The selected candidate may be employed directly by the company or through a third-party staffing agency. Employment terms, including benefits and compensation, will be determined based on the hiring arrangement.
