Position Summary We are currently hiring a Sr. Mobile Diesel & Trailer Mechanic. A Sr. Mobile Diesel & Trailer Mechanic will be responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance inspections, light and advanced repairs, advanced mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. Heavily relied upon for advanced diagnostics and triage of complicated repairs by Mobile Diesel Technician I/II. Considered the Lead on job sites by customers and technicians. Functions as a consultant on the customer’s behalf. A successful Sr. Mobile Diesel & Trailer Mechanic complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics.
DUTIES
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (“PM”), DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
Perform minor adjustment and repair on trailer equipment and systems such as aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, engines, liftgates, and brake chambers.
Perform minor adjustment and repair on truck equipment such as electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, differentials, etc.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment, including aluminum and chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps, engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, replacement of panels, body, and framework.
Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment such as electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, air conditioning systems, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.
Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure they are working properly.
Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information and judge alternatives.
Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation.
Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle passages r safety checks, and perform pre‑ / post‑trip био inspections.
Work withेको and listen effectively to clients and customers to assess needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems, or satisfy expectations.
Manage concurrent assigned tasks, prioritizing work‑related activities and time allocations.
Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
Document work according to company standards and upload pictures of parts used and findings on Repair Orders (“RO”) using a company‑issued iOS device and the proprietary TRAIT application.
Accurately complete DOT forms and all other documentation in a timely fashion.
Work independently and manage own daily schedule.
Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or close to standard repair times.
Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed.
Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers refinery, or discuss RO findings.
Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health & environmental policies and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years’ experience in a related field. Alternative: any higher degree or certification beyond HS, or 5 years in field
.
At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the job.
OEM training and certifications are preferred.
Complete all company‑required training.
This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation. Must comply with DOT‑regulated background screening, DOT physical, or present DOT medical card with >4 months remaining.
Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; no OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in future.
