About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Events for The Hospitality Show. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic relationship with the event partner, shaping the large event strategy to meet brand, member value, and financial objectives, and overseeing organization-wide project management and execution. This role involves serving as the lead point of contact with the event partner, managing the company's responsibilities for the show, and ensuring that all event logistics align with the broader portfolio of conferences and events. The VP will also be involved in advisory board administration, educational program development, and industry engagement initiatives.
Candidates for the VP of Events position should have a Bachelor's degree, 8-10 years of experience in strategic event management, and a proven track record in large trade show and conference settings. A Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification is preferred. The role requires a self-motivated individual with strong project management skills, excellent communication, and the ability to influence large, complex partners. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, customer-service focused, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, and experience with Salesforce is a plus. The position is based in the Washington, DC area and involves travel.
