The candidate will work within the Subrogation Unit to review new potential accident & health subrogation claims and is responsible for pursuit and recovery of claim funds based on applicable law and insurance policy.
Key Responsibilities
Resolves subrogation claims by conduction through investigations by obtaining and reviewing all necessary file documentation
Prepares comprehensive and detailed subrogation demands
Negotiates recovery of claim funds via email and telephone
Responds promptly to communications from clients, customers and other insurance companies and/or attorneys
Performs other duties as assigned
Skills, knowledge & expertise The ideal candidate will need to:
Possess strong verbal, writing, and analytical skills
Possess strong attention to detail
Possess strong organizational skills
Is proficient in MSWord and MS Excel
Possess the ability to work independently
Function equally within a collegial group depending upon the project or data
Possess appropriate interpersonal skills
Possess and maintain a professional and consultative demeanor
Education and Qualifications The ideal candidate will need:
Possess a college degree
At least 5 years health insurance claims handling experience as MGU or Stop Loss carrier
Experience in P&C, specifically Bodily Injury / Liability injury claimsStrong understanding of injuries and medical records
Proven ability to negotiate claims
Prior experience in handling subrogation strongly preferred
Willing to travel upon request
