APD is on the hunt for an Architectural Designer experienced in commercial/retail projects on a national scale, who can juggle various tasks and work collaboratively. Candidates should be familiar with AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural software. The role requires proactive problem‑solving, strong communication, and interpersonal skills to build relationships with teammates, clients, and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
Independently performs a variety of assignments key forhold all conventional aspects of architectural designs for moderate‑size projects.
Conducts design, planning, occupancy studies, and limited layout analyses.
Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing data.
Writes draft reports and specifications.
Collaborates with clients, colleagues, and multi‑discipline teams to define objectives, scope, and criteria.
Develops and refines design concepts through sketches, digital drawings, 3D modeling, and presentations.
Creates detailed architectural drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
Uses advanced tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp for high‑quality documentation and presentations.
Researches materials and finishes to ensure feasibility, sustainability, and aesthetic coherence.
Participates in charrettes, brainstorming, and design reviews.
Mentors interns and supports their professional development.
Works with Project Leads to manage schedules, budgets, and resources.
Communicates effectively with clients, contractors, and consultants to address design changes during construction.
Stays current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture from an ABETềm‑accredited school.
Entry‑level or internship experience in architectural design.
Basic understanding of inciso code, systems, and construction processes.
Graphic and visualization skills to communicate concepts.
Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit.
Preferred Qualifications
Completion of an internship at an Architecture or Engineering firm.
Participation in an AXP Program.
