Pinellas County Stormwater Operations is hiring a Tradesman 1- Pipe Layer (Craftworker 1) to help maintain and improve the infrastructure that protects our neighborhoods from flooding and erosion. In this role, you will use your skills to install and maintain stormwater pipes and structures, operate specialized equipment, and ensure compliance with environmental standards. You’ll work outdoors, solve real-world problems, and be part of a team that takes pride in protecting the community. Your work helps prevent flooding, protects natural resources, and ensures the safety of residents across Pinellas County. $18.00–$22.00 per hour What Would You Do?

Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of water and drainage systems. Perform structure repairs and site clearing to maintain system access. Operate excavation and pipe-laying equipment safely and efficiently. Load and secure equipment/supplies on a trailer and transport to the job site. Remove sediment and invasive vegetation from stormwater systems. What Do You Need To Have?

Three (3) years of skilled craft or trade experience in operations. Completion of a two-year skilled trades vocational or technical school program with a diploma or certification and one (1) year of experience in operations. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Must obtain a Temporary Traffic Control (TTC formerly MOT) certification within six (6) months of hire. Possession and maintenance of a valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License Class \"B\" license at time of hire with eligibility based upon evaluation of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) driving report. Understanding and consistent practice of safety expectations, safe equipment, vehicle operation and worksite setup. Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations. Other highly desirable knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials relevant to a position. Highly Desirable

Florida Commercial Driver’s License A preferred. MOT certification preferred. Knowledge of maintenance of traffic operations and roadway hazard mitigation for flagging traffic. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
