Zap
About the job.
Zap is looking for a Junior Content Writer who can bring big ideas, sharp wit, and a way with words. This role involves writing Knowledge Base articles, blogs, social media copy, website copy and collaborating with the team to enhance our content strategy. You’ll be at the heart of all things written content, contributing ideas and helping to shape how we communicate with our audience. Who are you?
We’re not interested in cookie-cutter candidates. Instead, we’re after someone who’s brimming with ideas and isn’t afraid to shout them from the rooftops. You’re curious, adaptable, and ready to roll up your sleeves. We want you if you’ve got the hunger to learn and the knack for turning out content that people actually want to read. Qualifications? We care more about your spark than your CV. We want to know what drives you and how you can make Zap even better. What you’ll be up to:
Content Writing: Craft sharp, engaging copy for everything from website pages and Knowledge Base articles to social media posts and in-house guides. SEO Savvy: Get cosy with keywords and optimise content for search engines without sacrificing style or flair. Research & Insight: Stay ahead of the game by diving into industry trends and turning your findings into content that resonates. Collaborative Projects: Team up with marketing, design, and web teams to brainstorm and bring content ideas to life. Performance Tracking: Keep an eye on the numbers and adjust your content strategy based on what’s working and what’s not. What we’re looking for:
We’re after someone ready to jump in headfirst and get their hands dirty. Experience is great, but attitude is everything. Here’s what we’re keen on: At least one year of experience in content writing, technical writing or similar roles. Someone comfortable working independently while also bouncing ideas off others to brainstorm. Top‑notch writing, editing, and proofreading skills. A self‑starter with exceptional organisational skills to juggle multiple projects at once. Basic knowledge of SEO or a willingness to learn. An eye for research and the ability to break down complex topics into digestible content. A natural communicator with a collaborative approach. Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace and WordPress is a plus. Benefits and Compensation
Salary range is between £25,000-£27,000, negotiable and dependent on experience. Salary is competitive, negotiable and dependent on experience. Company Bonus: 10% of salary once company goals are met or at the company’s discretion, which has been paid the past 5 years in a row. Service Bonus of £1,000 per annum paid into your monthly salary up to 5 years / £5,000. We operate on a flexible hours system. That means that while your usual hours will be during normal business hours, you have plenty of flexibility within that. Want to take a long lunch break? No worries. Do your best work at 6 am? Go for it. We’re a fully remote team, so no 8 am commutes to work. Work hard, play hard - we offer a minimum of 39 holidays a year (2 weeks of which can be taken over Christmas). You’ll also get an extra day off for your birthday, so no awkward work birthday parties. We have a quarterly all-team meeting in Glasgow. We supply any remote working tools and equipment you need. We are a Best Place to Work Certified company. Look after your health with subsidised full private BUPA Healthcare & Dental coverage. You will have access to VIVUP - staff benefits & wellbeing platform. We’re also a pension-providing employer.
