Job Description OVERVIEW: This is a full-time, in-office account executive (AE) role with occasional sales development representative (SDR) duties for technical products in a niche market. It is a salaried, non-commissioned sales position. However, on-target earnings (OTE) and quarterly profit-sharing bonuses are not capped and can represent 15% or more of the total compensation package. Some travel is expected; approximately 6-8 weeks per year. You will report to the sales & marketing director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, promote, and support Apogee Instruments products by:
Providing technical sales and support to scientists, researchers, distributors, and system integrators–assessing their needs, recommending solutions, processing orders, and resolving technical issues
Making in-person customer visits, including preparing and delivering presentations
Representing Apogee Instruments in exhibit booths at tradeshows and industry conferences
Helping guide R&D efforts by recognizing changes in applications and markets and soliciting customer feedback
Maintaining a current and proficient working knowledge of the company’s products and services
Assisting in the development of marketing materials and sales collateral
Working with the demand planning and production teams to ensure delivery expectations are aligned
Performing other tasks as assigned by the Sales & Marketing Director
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Required
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, meteorology, agriculture, business or equivalent experience
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Minimum of 1-2 years experience
Enthusiasm for working at a small, rapidly growing company
Preferred
Postgraduate degree or training in science, engineering, or business
Experience in technical sales and customer support
Experience or training in electronics, environmental monitoring, and/or data loggers
Additional Consideration Given to Applicants with
Familiarity with Odoo ERP
A background in horticulture and plant physiology
Fluent in Mandarin
