Senior Lumber Trader
We are selectively adding a Senior Lumber Trader to our trading desk to support continued growth and expand market reach. This opportunity is designed for experienced traders who already understand lumber markets, manage active relationships, and prefer operating with a high level of autonomy. This is a fully remote, commission-based role built for professionals who want control over their book of business while being supported by a strong operational platform. Key Responsibilities
Own and grow an established book of business with buyers and suppliers Source lumber and building materials from mills and trading partners Execute full truckload and mixed-load sales to distributors, reloads, wholesalers, and end users Monitor market trends, pricing movement, and supply-demand conditions Execute back-to-back trades while maintaining minimal ground inventory Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules Provide customers with ongoing market insight and product availability Coordinate logistics to ensure timely and accurate shipments Track trades, margins, and customer activity Ensure all activity aligns with company policies and industry standards Qualifications
3+ years of experience in lumber trading, commodity trading, or building materials sales Existing book of business or strong industry relationships Deep knowledge of lumber species, grades, and market dynamics Strong negotiation, pricing, and decision-making skills Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume trading environment Self-motivated and able to work independently Relationship-focused with a long-term partnership mindset Why This Role
