Job Summary Performs complex telecommunications work. Work involves installing, operating, diagnosing, and resolving voice, data, digital, wireless, and video telecommunications problems; and providing guidance to others. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Essential Functions
Reviews and prepares specifications for radio telecommunications equipment and licenses; and provides information and assistance regarding radio telecommunications licensing status and problem areas.
Installs new equipment to include repeaters, base radios, amplifiers, antennas, cabling, and mobile radio installations, and relocates existing equipment in the radio communications network; troubleshoots, repairs, tests, installs, and customizes portable, mobile, and infrastructure radios and equipment; and Klees to maintain radio telecommunications equipment components and implements corrective measures.
Investigates and resolves problems concerning the operation of radio telecommunications hardware and frequency interference; and assists in conducting engineering studies concerning narrowband and wideband spectrum assignments and analyzing results to determine corrective action in accordance with applicable state and federal rules and regulations.
Assists in the development of operational and administrative policies and procedures; and maintains and reviews manuals, electronic files, and records.
* Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.
This is a Career Ladder position. When filling the available positions, consideration will be given to the selected applicant’s education and experience.
The Information Technology Division has only one System Support Specialist position available. Applicants need only submit one application for employment.

Minimum Base Salary: GR. B18 ($4,057.72/month)
ERS Retiree Salary: ($3,970.95/month)
Minimum Base Salary: GR. B20 ($4,762.92/month)
