About this opportunity: Apple Valley News Now is seeking an innovative storyteller interested in anchoring local newscasts. We are looking for a self‑motivated individual who wants to dig deeper to tell a compelling story. This position is located at KVEW-TV in Kennewick, Washington.
What you’ll do:
Anchor newscasts
Develop story ideas; shoot, edit and write local news stories for TV & digital platforms
Demonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws
Produce newscasts when needed & other roles as assigned by news director
Enterprise compelling stories for newscasts, website and other platforms
Collaborate with co‑workers on the best way to present/report stories
What you’ll bring:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
Ability to edit using Adobe Premier preferred but not required
Degree in journalism, communications or equivalent field preferred
Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
Ability to work under extreme pressure and meet deadlines every day
Ability to lift and carry 15 pounds

Pay range: $20/hour - $25/hour
