Digital Communications Manager Introduction Culture for One (CFO), founded in 2010, is a non‑profit dedicated to helping NYC children in foster care engage with and experience the arts. As the organization enters an exciting growth stage, we seek a part‑time Digital Communications Manager (DCM) to support and implement key communications initiatives through 2030.
The Digital Communications Manager is Culture for One’s primary point person for digital communications, working closely with the Development and Program teams to execute the organization’s storytelling and brand presence across web, social and email platforms. This is a hands‑on execution‑focused role, ideal for a highly organized, creative, and self‑directed communicator who enjoys working independently while collaborating closely with colleagues in a small, mission‑driven organization. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the arts and experienced in producing compelling mission‑aligned content that grows awareness, engagement, and support. This role will report to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities
Website & Content Management : Maintain and update website content, including news, events, and campaign landing pages.
Social Media : Collaborate with designated staff who will manage most day‑to‑day social media during the initial months of the role; assist with scheduling and posting content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and website), as needed; collaborate with program and development staff to spotlight artists, events, and impact stories; support social media content creation by capturing and editing images, drafting written copy, and contributing to content planning; monitor engagement and basic analytics and share insights to help inform content adjustments and future planning.
Content Planning : Identify and plan content opportunities aligned with national awareness months, weeks, and days relevant to Culture for One’s mission and programs.
Campaign & Event Communications : Design and format materials for campaigns and events, including invitations, landing pages, and digital assets; support the technical production for events including Run of Show coordination at events, working with AV.
Publications & Email : Design and format annual reports and newsletters using approved copy; design and distribute e‑blasts with approved content.
Event Materials : Create digital and print materials for events, such as programs, presentations, and videos.
Qualifications
3‑5 years of experience in digital communications or content creation experience, ideally in the arts or nonprofit sector.
Strong writing, digital storytelling, image capture, and basic editing skills — voice must be vibrant, compelling, and aligned with Culture for One’s mission.
Experience with creating, scheduling and managing social media content.
Working knowledge of SEO, analytics, and digital platform trends.
Highly motivated, self‑directed, and organized.
Strong work ethic and impeccable personal integrity and discretion.
Deep appreciation for what the arts can mean to underserved children and young adults in our community.
Capacity to thrive in a small organizational environment where adaptability, versatility, time management, and entrepreneurial skills are essential.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office skills required; experience with Dropbox, Zoom, Canva, Squarespace CRM platforms such as Network for Good, Neon or Raiser Edge.

Compensation This is a part‑time job for 20 hours per week without benefits; hourly pay ranging from $30‑$40 per hour, commensurate with experience; potential for full‑time schedule with comprehensive benefits package as of July 1, 2026.
This role requires eligibility to work in the United States. As a part‑time position the work may be done remotely, with ability to work in the NYC office when needed for team meetings.
