Assistant Deli Manager

Responsibilities
Assist the Desome Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Deli team
Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive
Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Deli team
Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
Ensure the execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and validate that other Deli team members are also aware of, and following, these procedures

Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age with preferred 2 years of supervisory experience and strong knowledge of deli or related food service
Be dependable and reliable, able to work a flexible schedule that changes with business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Have strong written and verbal communication skills mennes, with the ability to receive and give direction in a team environment
Show an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive attitude, רפוא interaction with customers, special orders, and answering phones
Possess proven leadership ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff, and knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales, and financial goals
Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem‑solving skills
Maintain Food Safety certification and ensure all federal, state, and company regulations for product freshness, food safety, weights and measures, store safety, employee safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met
Strong organizational and planning skills, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Be able to lift/carry product up to 70 lbs., from 4″ to 60″, for a distance up to 20 ft. without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours
Stand for up to 4 hours continuously per shift, totaling 8 hours per shift
Operate slicer, wrapping, and cooking equipment and maintain all equipment in safe working condition
Perform other related duties as assigned
