Packaging Operator
Pay Rate: $25.78/hour Location: Havre de Grace, MD 21078 Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (7:00 AM
7:00 PM and 7:00 PM
7:00 AM, rotating every 2 weeks) Week 1: 48 hours Week 2: 36 hours Key Responsibilities
Operate packaging equipment (bag/FIBC fillers, stretch wrappers, hammer mills, deaeration, etc.) safely and efficiently. Follow site ESHQ procedures, cGMP standards, and SOPs. Perform field quality tests and record results in the SPC program. Conduct equipment maintenance, changeovers, setup, and basic troubleshooting. Submit accurate work orders for equipment failures requiring maintenance. Clean and purge packaging equipment. Document packaging and cleaning activities in worksheets and logbooks. Transfer finished goods within SAP Inventory Management System. Safely operate a forklift. Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals. Monitor and communicate line performance (OEE) to supervisors and engineers. Maintain reliable attendance and demonstrate a positive, professional attitude. Share knowledge with team members for training and development purposes. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Prior manufacturing experience preferred. Strong work ethic, integrity, and dependability. Self-starter with ability to multi-task, work independently, and perform in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and flexibility to adapt to change. Experience with pumps, valves, motors, and Microsoft Office is preferred. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Ability to work in environments with heat, cold, dust, and other discomforts. Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed. Ability to lift 40 lbs consistently (up to 50 bags per hour) and 50 lbs occasionally. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting for 12-hour shifts. Frequent climbing of stairs/ladders and mounting/dismounting forklifts. Must wear required PPE (safety shoes, face masks, glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, gloves, and respirator as required). Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with site teams (Safety, Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering). Partner with site leadership to support operations, provide feedback, and carry out instructions.
