Primary Care Sales Consultant - Katy, TX, Houston, TX PURPOSE

Primary Care Sales Consultant (SC) is accountable for implementing the sales strategies for an approved Cardiorenal product, and will further drive launch activities for an anticipated menopause launch. The role is focused on driving demand, clinical education and sales by developing, coordinating, and implementing a strategic business plan for Primary Care Physicians primarily in community settings.

Reporting to the CVR Area General Manager (AGM), the consultant will collaborate closely with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, and other internal partners to drive US Pharma outcomes. The territory covers the Katy, TX, Houston, TX metropolitan area with up to 50% travel. The position is residence‑based and requires domicile within the territory.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and develop professional relationships with primary care, pharmacy staff, and other assigned customers.

Drive utilization of approved CV and menopause products, working closely with the Customer Squad to generate pull‑through within local payers and community HCPs.

Leverage knowledge of the diabetes and menopause marketplace, competitors, and industry trends to anticipate and effectively manage business opportunities and challenges.

Provide thoughtful input to commercial colleagues regarding strategic and tactical planning for territory, area, and region.

Develop and implement effective customer‑specific business plans, communicating insights to internal stakeholders.

Prioritize time to ensure optimal coverage of appropriate physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.

Understand assigned customers’ product and business needs and work to meet those needs while adhering to all Bayer ethics and compliance standards.

Anticipate potential barriers to goal achievement and propose responsible solutions for success.

Handle customer objections effectively and exceed expectations with the value you bring to physicians. Occasionally share exemplary skills with others in the region in a training capacity.

Leverage and embrace emerging technologies to enhance performance and continuously strive to improve proficiency.

Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines and regulations, applying high ethical standards in day‑to‑day work.

WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of successful relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales role or other relevant experience.

Proven track record in developing long‑standing relationships with customers.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership and foster an environment that promotes ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Ability to comply with any customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up‑to‑date vaccinations, trainings).

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

An advanced degree is a plus.

5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.

In‑depth knowledge in the cardiovascular and/or diabetes and/or menopause disease states.

Product launch experience.

Strong analytical and computer capabilities.

Virtual sales experience.

Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of local market.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $120,960.00 and $181,440.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.
