RA’s client is seeking a

Laser Sales Manager

to join our team of experts. In this role, you will leverage our client’s profound understanding of fundamental research to open doors in scientific, commercial and government markets. You will have the autonomy to build relationships across the spectrum, helping academic customers push the boundaries of science while helping industrial customers integrate those breakthroughs into commercial reality.

Driving the Quantum Revolution:

We are the gold standard for the quantum industry. Our lasers are the heartbeat of the world's most advanced quantum computers, providing the precision light needed to manipulate atoms and ions, achieve record gate fidelities, and scale qubit counts.

You won't just sell components; you will enable commercialization. With innovations like our T‑Rack systems, we allow customers to migrate their technology from complex optical tables to compact, server‑ready arrays—solving the critical challenge of scalability.

About the Role As the

Laser Sales Manager , you will be a driving force behind our client’s growth in the North American market. Operating in a dynamic “technology push” environment, you will bridge the gap between scientific innovation and industrial applications. Your primary mission is to identify new opportunities and cultivate relationships across a diverse customer base—ranging from principal investigators in top‑tier research labs to procurement teams at major commercial customers.

You will not only be selling a product; you will be developing financially sound strategic plans to solve complex customer problems. Success in this role requires a unique blend of technical fluency, analytical thinking, and interpersonal agility to close deals in both academic and commercial sectors.

Responsibilities

Manage the Full Sales Lifecycle: Oversee the entire sales process for a diverse territory, managing complex sales cycles for potential academic and commercial customers using our CRM system.

Bridge the Gap: Act as the primary liaison between customer requirements and our client’s engineering capabilities. You will identify new applications in Quantum, Biophotonics, and Materials Science and assess potential our client solutions.

Strategic Planning: Work with leadership to define the North American sales strategy, analyzing market data to identify new opportunities in both research and industrial sectors.

Technical Evangelism: Travel extensively to client sites to demonstrate product capabilities, proving that our client specs (linewidth, stability, power) meet the rigorous demands of their specific applications.

Product Roadmap Influence: Act as the voice of the North American market. You will gather insights on emerging scientific trends and competitor activity to help shape future product development within the our client group.

Financial Performance: Own your numbers. You will be responsible for meeting annual booking and revenue targets through proactive pipeline management and sales activity.

Continuous Learning: Commit to ongoing technical training, including visits to our Munich headquarters, to stay ahead of the rapid advancements in photonics technology.

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

PhD or MS in Physics, Photonics, or a related field.

Prior experience in the photonics industry or quantum technology space is preferred.

Prior sales experience is preferred.

Must demonstrate the ability to bridge the gap between scientific consulting and commercial value selling.

Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear value propositions.

Highly organized with strong computer literacy (CRM, Office Suite, Data Analysis).

Willingness to travel to customer sites across North America and to the headquarters in Western Europe.
