Job Summary/Description Alaska's News Source seeks a skilled fill-in broadcast News Anchor who has a proven record Receipt of on‑camera broadcast experience. The ideal candidate has exceptional communication skills. This is a high‑profile position in our statewide community and our newsroom, which demands leadership and initiative. We are looking for a proven and experienced anchor who is available for part‑time on‑call work as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities
Anchor all newscasts (Morning, Evening, and Weekend) as needed on‑call
Work closely with newscast producers and Executive Producers to ensure story selection and quality of broadcasts are clear, compelling, and consistent
Build local contacts and relationships
Participate in station visits and promotional initiatives
Exhibit excellent news judgment
Must be able to communicate with the audience with ease during breaking news, while making sound, split‑second decisions during live broadcasts
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years experience as a broadcast Anchor
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Commitment to excellence and ability to excel on an award‑winning news team
Clear understanding of, and adherence to, journalistic ethics
