The Toronto Blue Jays are looking for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are interested in learning from industry-leading professionals and exploring what it means to be a part of Canada’s only Major League Baseball team.

Selected individuals will become part of a diverse cohort with access to department-specific training, social activities and learning opportunities. Each participant will also be assigned a cross-departmental mentor from within the organization to guide them throughout the program and the unique chance to present to the Toronto Blue Jays’ Leadership Team.

During this year-long program, candidates will gain invaluable real-world exposure to the sports industry, immersing themselves in the Toronto Blue Jays world right here at the Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays office is more than just workstations and computers; it is an extension of the ballpark. Here, we channel the game’s energy as we strive daily to achieve our mission: to get better every day to win World Series championships and celebrate with our fans across Canada.

Overview Working closely with the Senior Manager, Social Media, Specialist, Social Media, and greater Marketing team, the Social Media Associate will be responsible for helping the Blue Jays Social Media Team ideate and post content to our channels across all platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Threads, etc.).

The role will be a key contributor to the Social Media and Marketing teams to help continue expand an already-strong online presence audience across the country, primarily with younger demographics.

This position requires the ability to think of engaging copy that aligns with our brand voice, as well as expert knowledge of social media platforms. The ideal candidate will also be a creative thinker who can ideate collaboratively with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization.

The role requires a strong knowledge of the game of baseball and a passion for the Blue Jays.

Responsibilities

Assist with publishing daytime social media content under the guidance of the Social Media Senior Manager and Social Media Specialist

Write entertaining, accurate social media copy where needed and interact with our audience while maintaining a unified brand voice

Collaborate with the Social Media Team to help maintain the social media calendar

Stay up to date with current trends happening on various social media platforms

Contribute innovative ideas for new projects and social media campaigns

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work-related experience gained in the last 3 years.

Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills

Strong proficiency in all major social media platforms & social media management tools

Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, etc.)

Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends across the social media space

Must possess good working knowledge about the game of baseball and the Blue Jays

Ability to collaborate and work independently successfully

Strong organizational skills are a must

Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Applicants must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends and holidays as required.

Salary:

The anticipated base compensation for this role is $25.00 per hour.
