Housing Ambassador

The purpose of the Housing Ambassador (HA) position is to serve as a frontline representative of the University of Utah's Housing and Dining Programs (HDP). HAs provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and university staff while supporting housing operations, promoting HDP resources, and upholding the department's values of staff excellence and professional growth, integrity, team, service, and positive attitude. Responsibilities include: Providing excellent and informative customer service to residents, guests, and staff at any desk location. Assisting Student Leaders, Assignment Coordinators, the Housing Outreach Coordinator, the Assistant Director for Occupancy, the Associate Director of Operations, and other HDP personnel as needed. Assisting in distributing information regarding housing and meal plans. Responding to emails and phone calls with a high level of professionalism and customer service. Conducting myself ethically and professionally at all times, setting a positive example for residents and upholding the University of Utah student code, Residence Halls policies, and applicable laws. Maintaining open and respectful communication with supervisors, fellow student leaders, and all other HDP staff. Keeping all student information and records strictly confidential and in compliance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act). Promptly notifying professional staff of critical situations, maintenance issues, or custodial needs. Upholding all HDP values, including Positive Attitude, Integrity, Team, Professional Development, Social Justice, and Service. Fulfilling all duties outlined in the position description and any additional responsibilities assigned by HDP to the best of my ability. Minimum qualifications include: Must be in good academic, financial, and behavioral standing with the University of Utah. Minimum GPA requirement: 2.0, to be maintained throughout employment. Customer service and clerical experience. Experience living on campus at the University of Utah. Must be a current University of Utah student. Preferences include: Need to be a current University of Utah student. 1 year of customer service work.
