Responsibilities
Performs nutritional assessments for prenatal, postpartum, breastfeeding women and children from birth to five years. Provides evidence-based nutrition counseling to the same population. Determines nutritional risk factors and eligibility for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program. Performs anthropometrics (heights and weights) and hematological testing as needed. Accurately documents assessments, care plans, and notes in the electronic medical record. Promotes WIC through community outreach events and assists with reporting. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Entry‑level dietitian/nutritionist knowledge of evidence‑based nutrition principles, assessment, counseling, education, SMART goal setting, and documentation in narrative and SOAP format. Critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Customer service skills. Computer skills for data entry, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical record use. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nutritional science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, or dietetics. Current active license as a Dietitian or Nutritionist in the State of Florida issued by the Division of Medical Quality Assurance. Willingness to travel to various clinic locations and community partners in Brevard County throughout the day. Availability to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours in emergencies. Preferred
Previous nutrition‑related work experience. Experience working in WIC. Fluency in English and Spanish or Creole. Mission, Vision, and Values
