The Role at a Glance:

As a Tool & Die Technician, you will be the backbone of our production quality. You will spend your time fabricating precision components from scratch and diagnosing complex stamping-die issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Precision Tool Making

Fabrication: Use manual and CNC equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM) to create new tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

Technical Execution: Manufacture parts to exact blueprint or CAD specs, maintaining tight tolerances and superior finishes.

Collaboration: Partner with Engineering to design or improve tooling for new product launches.

Quality Control: Inspect all work using precision instruments like micrometers and height gauges.

Expert Die Repair

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair progressive, transfer, and line stamping dies during active production.

Maintenance: Perform teardowns, sharpening, and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Corrective Action: Identify root causes of quality issues and adjust components (punches, die buttons, strippers) for optimal performance.

Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of builds, revisions, and maintenance cycles.

What You Bring to the Table

Experience: 2+ years in tool making or die repair within a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skillset: Strong grasp of tool steel properties, heat treatment, and precision assembly.

Machining Prowess: Proficiency with manual/CNC equipment and GD&T blueprint reading.

Specialized Techniques: Experience in TIG/Arc/Laser welding for surface repair and the ability to hand-finish complex geometries (grinding/polishing).

Education: High School Diploma or GED; a Technical Certificate or Apprenticeship is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements & Availability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for the duration of a shift.

Shift Flexibility: Candidates must be open to various schedules, including: Weekday shifts (Morning, Afternoon, or Night – 8 hours). Weekend shifts (12 hours). xhqgsiq Occasional overtime to meet production demands.
