Salary Range:
$54,500 - $57,499 (commensurate with experience)
About the Department North Carolina State University’s Plants for Human Health Institute (PHHI) is seeking a Visual Communications Specialist to support the N.C. Cooperative Extension team at the N.C. Research Campus (NCRC) in Kannapolis, NC. The interdisciplinary institute combines research and extension programs to advance innovative plant‑based solutions that improve human health.
Responsibilities
Develop and produce print and video visual materials to promote and support PHHI research and outreach efforts.
Create collateral for PHHI and program‑specific materials, including recipe cards, lesson plans, graphical abstracts for grant submissions, and visuals for digital media.
Assist in supporting research and outreach publications and resources in print and online formats.
Travel off‑site on occasion independently without relying on others or advanced notice for transportation.
Qualifications Minimum Experience/Education:
High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge of professional audio and/or digital video editing and post‑production procedures, techniques, and standards.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences, including students, educators, extension professionals, legislators, and the general public.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
A valid driver’s license; NC driver’s license required within 60 days of hire and must be maintained.
