Role Overview
The Senior Paid Media Strategist serves as the strategic owner of assigned client relationships. This role is responsible for developing media strategies aligned with client business objectives and ensuring those strategies are executed effectively across platforms. While capable of stepping into platforms when needed, this role is not designed for day-to-day tactical execution. The Senior Paid Media Strategist partners closely with internal team members, managed service partners, and Flare leadership to drive strong outcomes, thoughtful optimization, and long-term client success. Key Responsibilities
Develop and own paid media strategies grounded in client goals, audience insights, and market dynamics Translate strategy into clear direction for execution teams and partners Utilize available research and data sources to develop audience insights, inform media strategy, and guide decision-making across channels Ensure media plans are implemented accurately and aligned with strategic intent Review performance holistically, identifying trends, insights, and optimization opportunities across channels Guide budget allocation and pacing across platforms Serve as the primary strategic voice on client accounts, supporting reporting conversations with insight and context Collaborate with leadership to identify growth opportunities and evolving client needs Maintain working knowledge of all major platforms (e.g., Google, Meta, programmatic, etc.) to effectively evaluate performance and execution quality Strategic ownership of assigned accounts Accountability for outcomes and client satisfaction Ability to step into platforms when necessary, without living in them daily Proactive communication with internal teams and leadership Qualifications
6–8+ years of paid media or digital marketing experience (agency experience preferred) Strong understanding of how paid media platforms work individually and together Proven ability to think strategically while managing complexity
