What You’ll Do You will oversee and support the optical department by balancing leadership, operations, and patient service. Key responsibilities include: Team Leadership and Development Lead, coach, and support the optical sales team to meet service and performance goals Assist with onboarding and training new optical staff, with a focus on developing strong optical skills Support optical meetings, brainstorming selling points, and sharing best practices Partner with HR and providers in annual performance reviews Optical Operations and Scheduling Provide coverage and support for the optical department, with occasional support in pretest or front desk as needed Coordinate staff scheduling with the business office while maintaining payroll targets Maintain organization across the optical and pretest departments Inventory, Vendors, and Purchasing Manage frame inventory using Wave RFID, including monthly counts, tagging, returns, and troubleshooting Assist with frame buying and budget management in coordination with the business office Manage purchase orders and communicate with vendors regarding insurance, services, and products Administrative and Practice Support Assist with accounts receivable for insurance and patient balances when needed Ensure accurate end-of-day processing and cash reconciliation Work with administration to maintain Compulink schedules and Microsoft calendars Communicate with Compulink to resolve issues and improve system efficiency Participate in quarterly meetings with doctors and leadership to support practice growth What We’re Looking For Minimum of 5 years’ Experience in Optical Sales Prior experience in optical management or optical leadership Strong understanding of optical operations, inventory management, and patient service Ability to lead, train, and develop a team Comfortable balancing hands-on support with administrative responsibilities Strong organizational and communication skills Experience with Compulink or similar practice management systems preferred Contact Lens Visual Field Testing Lensometry Autorefractor Frame Selection Pre-Testing Doctor of Optometry Ocular Disease Tonometry Optical Knowledge Refraction Dispensing Glasses Eye Exams Lens Selection Keratometry Certified Optician Corneal Topography Optomap Fundus Photography Licensed Dispensing Optician NCLE National Contact Lens Examiners Certification Contact Lens Fitting Intraocular Pressure Requirements Applanation Tonometry Certified Ophthalmic Technician Scribing Class Of Trade ABO Certified Life at Meyer Eyecare At Meyer Eyecare, we value teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
