Inside Sales Representative – Cook Compression
Dover Precision Components is hiring an Inside Sales Representative for our Cook Compression brand. We deliver performance‑critical solutions for rotating and reciprocating machinery across several markets, including oil & gas. We are part of Dover Corporation, a $7+ billion global company known for stability and innovation.
This role is based at our Houston TX facility, in Pearland area. We offer competitive pay, and benefits start on day one.
WHAT YOU'LL DO The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for providing customers with accurate and timely responses by coordinating with shipping, manufacturing, and planning for the on‑time delivery of products, collaborating in a team‑based environment. Specific responsibilities include:
Manages sales and transfer orders from quote to invoice, including product and order research and pricing, quote and order generation and tracking, and order expediting
Provides customers with premium care, with a sense of urgency
Updates customer order status reports and milestones
Addresses inquiries regarding product pricing, availability, concerns and problems
Initiates orders with the customer or recommends order changes based on account and manufacturing knowledge
Works in a team environment to meet business objectives and goals
Maintains accurate records utilizing ERP system
Communicates with regional sales team and site operations for status of order and position of sales
Provides sales and administrative support for pricing and invoicing
Strives to maintain share with assigned accounts, always looking for opportunities for growth and new business
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
1+ year of related experience in inside sales, customer service, or similar, preferably within a manufacturing setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including dynamic telephone presence
Ability to influence internal and external customers with proven client relationship and rapport‑building skills
Highly organized with a track record of exceptional follow‑up, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
System/computer skills in MS Office – Excel, Word, and ERP such as Syteline
Bringing a collaborative approach, demonstrating a positive attitude and being a great team player
Demonstrating sound judgment, discretion, and preserving confidentiality
ALSO GREAT IF YOU BRING / PREFERENCES
Minimum Associate degree preferred
Experience in oil and gas manufacturing, knowledge of the industry, pricing structures, and precision components highly desired
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing systems, especially production and inventory control
