We are seeking to add an analyst/associate to join our Private Credit & Public securities Asset Management team, with a focus on asset-based lending (ABL) across specialty finance, real-asset, and structured credit platforms. This role supports senior portfolio managers in monitoring performance of collateral-backed credit investments, conducting data-driven surveillance, and ensuring compliance with portfolio documentation. The analyst/associate will join a closely collaborative, entrepreneurial team of seasoned investment professionals supported by Marathon’s global platform. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to multiple dimensions of asset-based finance, asset allocation modeling and portfolio optimization. Responsibilities
Enhance asset and portfolio management functions and contribute to fundraising efforts through:
Active monitoring and reporting of existing portfolio exposures and performance
Preparation of performance, commentary, and marketing materials for current and prospective investors
Identify emerging risks and performance deviations; elevate issues to senior asset managers
Assist with valuation updates, and reports for investment committee and risk committees respectively
Assist and prepare materials for portfolioContribute to internal and external reporting packages for investors and risk oversight teams
In addition, the role could focus on supporting senior investment professionals in analyzing structured credit / asset-based investments across a range of sectors, with a focus on, but not limited to, the residential and consumer credit sectors. Examples include:
Consumer loans, mortgages and other asset based debt
Private Credit Asset Management
Liquid structured credit securities (ABS, CLO, CMBS, RMBS)
Qualifications
BA or BS degree showing strong quantitative skills
2+ years’ experience in the fixed income/credit markets required
Experience analyzing consumer, auto, residential, equipment, or other asset-backed portfolios is preferred
Proficiency in MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), VBA and MS SQL are required
Experience and comfort with programming languages and statistical packages is a plus (Python/C++)
Solid understanding of bond math and cashflow modelling fundamentals
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
Outstanding work ethic, ability and desire to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Strong motivation and desire to learn
The salary range for this role is $115,000-$135,000 in base pay (exclusive of bonus or benefits above and beyond the base pay). Base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, location, skills, training, certifications, and education, and in addition we will also consider internal equity and market data. We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case by case basis.
