The Pennington County Sheriff's Office is looking for an energetic, outgoing individual who's eager to build their skills and make an impact. We are currently hiring for a grant‑funded temporary position that offers a unique opportunity to work hand‑in‑hand with our HR and Training teams while gaining valuable professional experience.
Under the direction of the HR Manager, the HR Recruiter/Social Media Specialist is responsible for sourcing, engaging, and hiring top talent through innovative social media strategies and traditional recruiting methods. In support of County Human Resource functions, this position is responsible for performing confidential administrative work of considerable difficulty, requiring judgement and discretion with general latitude for decision making.
Responsibilities
Follow and maintain knowledge of County policies and procedures, as well as Federal, State and Local laws governing FMLA, FLSA, ADA, HIPAA guidelines.
Develop and execute social media recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent and retain current employees.
Identify and leverage relevant social media platforms and online communities to engage with potential candidates; utilizing social media channels, professional networking sites, and industry groups to source and engage passive candidates.
Create compelling content, including job postings, company updates, and employee testimonials, to showcase our employer brand and career opportunities, including development of creative campaigns and initiatives to drive candidate engagement and interest in job opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with potential candidates through personalized outreach, messaging, and networking efforts.
Collaborate with Manager and department teams to develop content for social media campaigns, including social media and website updates, blog posts, videos, infographics, and webinars.
Monitor and respond to candidate inquiries and feedback on social media platforms, maintaining a positive and engaging online presence.
Analyze recruitment metrics and social media insights to track the effectiveness of campaigns and make data driven decisions to optimize recruitment efforts, participate in the completion and submission of various people-related statistics as requested, preparing reports and composing correspondence as required.
Plan and coordinate virtual and in-person recruitment events, such as webinars, career fairs, and networking meetups.
Represent the company at industry events and conferences to network with potential candidates and promote our employer brand.
Build relationships with universities, colleges, and professional organizations to attract top talent and establish partnerships for talent pipelines.
Processes department payroll and vouchers for payment in a timely and accurate manner.
Performs related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma.
Associate's Degree in Marketing, Human Resources, Business, or related field is preferred but not required.
Three or more years of experience performing marketing, recruitment, retention, and data analysis functions is preferred but not required.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Proficient in using HR software, tools, and systems for data analysis, reporting, and talent management with great attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate across departments and work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Possess advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, and can apply them as needed.
Demonstrates active listening and communication skills, ability to follow oral and written instructions, and able to apply independent judgment as needed.
Working Environment
Most work is performed indoors in an office where noise and interruptions often occur.
Physical Requirements
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential position functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
This position frequently remains stationary for long periods of time and needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine and printer.
Must be able to move up to 20 pounds unassisted and move 40 pounds with assistance.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively on telephone, in-person and in writing.
