Position Summary The Vaccine Account Manager (VAM) owns the B2B customer relationship with the region’s largest healthcare delivery networks, including health systems, state health departments, and federally qualified health centers.
The VAM is the primary liaison with key clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders, understanding customer needs and delivering a customized value proposition.
The role requires strategic thinking, strong customer engagement skills, and the ability to navigate complex contracting and formulary processes while coordinating with cross‑functional field teams to exceed ambitious sales targets.
Responsibilities Strategic Account Development and Management
Build partnerships with large‑organized customers, including HSs, public awardees, and FQHCs, and key decision‑makers.
Identify the customer’s objectives and demonstrate how vaccination efforts support them.

map stakeholder cycles, budget periods, and formulary timelines, and conduct business reviews.N navigate complex organizational structures to secure vaccine access, formulary status, stocking, and pull‑through.
Work with public sector decision‑makers to advance immunization efforts and address local policy changes.
Manage key accounts through business reviews, contract performance discussions, educational program coordination, and attendance at key customer meetings and conferences.
Sales Excellence & Revenue Generation
Achieve or exceed customer‑specific targets on volume, IZ rates, market share, and sales goals.
Define and achieve customer‑specific objectives and KPIs for success.
Support the contracting process with contracting specialists.
Execute consultative selling processes to position vaccines as the leading intervention.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Act as the “quarterback” of VBU and coordinate with Sales leadership to meet customer needs vote .
Support vaccination programs across channels, including referrals to retail pharmacies, adjudication, and digital platforms as appropriate.
Partner with internal teams—contracting specialists, medical affairs, marketing—to offer relevant resources and present the clinical, economic, and operational value of vaccines.
Collaborate with Market Access to address coverage, reimbursement, and contracting challenges.
Clinical & Scientific Expertise
Develop expertise in vaccines, disease states, immunization guidelines, and competitive landscape.
Provide evidence‑based clinical education on vaccine efficacy, safety profiles, and administration protocols.
Maintain current knowledge of CDC guidelines, medical society recommendations, and health quality metrics.
Market Intelligence & Analysis
Analyze key account performance, market trends, competitive activities, and formulary landscape to identify growth opportunities.
Provide market feedback to internal stakeholders on positioning and pricing.
Administrative & Compliance
Maintain detailed customer interaction and activity records in CRM systems.
Complete required training programs, certifications, and compliance modules.
Ensure all promotional activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations and company policies.
Success Metrics & Key Performance Indicators
Annual sales target achievement at the customer and territory level.
Stakeholder mapping completion and decision‑maker access in assigned accounts.
Other metrics to be defined by the organization (e.g., IZ rates, market shares, contract performance).
Field and account coverage metrics as defined by management.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Previous vaccine sales experience.
Minimum 5 years combined experience in pharmaceutical sales, marketing, payer, and/or business development.
Valid driver’s license.
Travel required: up to 40% Britannica.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in business, public health, hospital administration, or a related field is a plus.
Deep knowledge of contracting in the healthcare industry.
Expertise in the vaccines marketplace, GSK’s portfolio, and customers.
Deep knowledge of the health systems business model, organization structure, and decision‑making processes.
Experience calling on C/D level within large, strategic health delivery networks.
Experience managing leadership across a matrixed organization.
Key Skills / Competencies
Advanced business acumen and analytical skills to diagnose opportunities.
Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills for large‑customer engagement.
Ability to translate strategy into local‑level business and strategic account plans.

Location This is a field‑based position; the percentage of travel will be determined by the customer location in relation to your geographic location.
