Our railway client is looking for a Customer Email Communications and Marketing Communications writer. Location: Fort Worth Headquarters (hybrid)
Key Responsibilities
Write, edit, and proofread customer-facing email communications related to service changes and disruptions, new service offerings or tools, safety protocols and regulatory updates, and other email communications.
Translate complex operational and regulatory content into clear, accessible language for customers.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Marketing Communications, Customer Experience, Marketing (Sales), Operations, and Legal, to ensure accuracy, tone, and consistency.
Ensure all content adheres to industry regulations, internal policies, and brand voice.
Apply feedback quickly and iterate on content to meet project timelines.
Recommend improvements to email clarity, structure, and tone based on customer feedback and engagement data.
Support marketing communications initiatives for select business segments. Assist in the creation, editing, and proofreading of marketing materials such as website and landing page copy, social media posts and digital campaigns, case studies/white papers, brochures, and sales collateral, trade show and event support materials, and executive and sales presentations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or a related field.
3+ years of professional writing experience, including customer communications, marketing content, or technical writing.
Basic understanding of B2B marketing and customer communications.
Experience working with graphic designers and creative teams.
Strong grasp of email writing best practices and familiarity with customer communication workflows.
Excellent ability to distill technical or operational information into clear customer-facing content.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with proven ability to deliver polished work quickly and under pressure, especially in time-sensitive operational contexts.
Comfortable routing drafts to key stakeholders and navigating cross-functional feedback, ensuring timely sign-off and alignment across departments.
Familiarity with logistics, transportation, or freight rail operations is a strong plus.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and clarity.
Familiarity with email platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar.
Experience in marketing communications, developing and executing communication strategies that align with company goals.
Comfortable creating engaging content for marketing campaigns while ensuring consistent messaging and compliance with company brand.
Ability to collaborate with business partners, design teams and external agencies to develop marketing materials.
Preferred Qualifications
>Experience writing in regulated industries or sectors with operational complexity (e.g., transportation, logistics, energy) and/or with Class I railroads, shortline operators, or other supply chain/logistical environments is a plus, but not required. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Safety, and Operations.
