Salary Range: $100,000.00 To $200,000.00 Annually

Job Summary The Comfort Advisor is a customer-facing sales professional responsible for assessing residential home comfort needs and presenting tailored solutions for heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems. This role combines technical understanding with consultative sales skills to educate homeowners, build trust, and close sales while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The Comfort Advisor works closely with installation and service teams to ensure accurate system design, smooth project handoff, and high customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities Conduct in-home consultations to evaluate HVAC, plumbing, and electrical needs

Perform load calculations, system evaluations, and visual inspections

Present customized system replacement or upgrade options

Explain features, benefits, warranties, and financing options clearly

Close sales while maintaining ethical, customer-first sales practices

Technical & Solution Design

Recommend appropriately sized and code-compliant systems

Review existing equipment, ductwork, piping, and electrical capacity

Ensure proposed solutions meet safety, efficiency, and comfort standards

Accurately document scope of work for installation teams

Customer Experience

Build rapport and trust with homeowners through professional communication

Address customer questions, concerns, and objections

Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process

Follow up on estimates and pending opportunities

Enter accurate notes, proposals, and pricing into CRM or sales software

Coordinate with dispatch, installation, and service departments

Attend sales meetings, trainings, and product updates

Meet or exceed assigned sales goals and performance metrics

Qualifications Required

2+ years of residential HVAC or home services sales experience (preferred)

Strong consultative selling and closing skills

Basic understanding of HVAC systems; plumbing and electrical knowledge a plus

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred

Experience as a Comfort Advisor, HVAC Sales Consultant, or In-Home Sales Rep

Knowledge of load calculations, energy efficiency, and home comfort solutions

Familiarity with CRM systems and digital sales tools

Financing and upselling experience

Customer-focused mindset

Strong problem-solving abilities

Professional appearance and demeanor

Ability to manage multiple appointments and deadlines

Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude

Comfortable discussing pricing and closing sales

Physical Requirements Ability to walk through residential properties, including attics and crawl spaces

Ability to stand, bend, and climb stairs as needed

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
