is looking for a talented and passionate Interior Designer with 4-7 years of experience to join our collaborative studio in the Rocky Mountains! The ideal Interior Designer will actively collaborate with the Interiors Studio and architectural project teams, supporting project milestones through all phases of design, development, and documentation. This role demands a balance of creative design vision and technical precision, ensuring that interior solutions are both inspiring and technically sound. CCY does not offer remote positions. The position requires candidates collaborate and be present in our design studio in Basalt, Colorado. Team members may work from home one day per week, with the expectation of being physically present in the office during regular business hours the remaining four days.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Contributing to the development of conceptual interior design ideas that enhance and elevate architectural concepts, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic vision.
Assisting in the creation of detailed material palettes, finish schedules, and presentation materials that effectively communicate design intent.
Supporting the selection and specification of finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) to align with project goals, design vision, and technical requirements.
Developing detailed technical and construction documentation for interiors across all project phases, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with building standards.
Conducting research on materials, products, and finishes to inform and support innovative, yet feasible, design solutions.
Contributing to technical specifications and manuals that support quality control during construction and installation.
Maintaining and expanding the materials/finish library for the studio to foster design innovation and efficiency.
Collaborating closely with the Interiors Studio Director, Project Managers, and the core project team to ensure both the artistic and technical aspects of interior design are seamlessly integrated.
Requirements:
A professional degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture from an accredited institution (CIDA-accredited degree required).
4-7 years of professional experience at an architecture or interior design firm.
Strong technical skills, with an understanding of construction documentation and detailing.
Knowledge of FF&E, finishes, and material applications.
Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
A creative curiosity, with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Sound judgment regarding current design trends, construction methods, and material appropriateness.
