Who we’re looking for The Legal Department for Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a passionate and highly motivated attorney with experience in procurement contract drafting and negotiation to support the company’s Indirect Procurement Shared Services (IPSS) organization, provide oversight and management of the TFS Intellectual Property Program (with a focus on trademark registrations and patent applications), provide general transactional counsel and support for business unit projects, and handle occasional supplier disputes.

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, the person in this role will support the Legal department's objective to provide sound legal advice for various business units.

This position is based in Plano, Texas. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within commutable distance of this location.

What you’ll be doing

Draft, review and negotiate Indirect Procurement Agreements with service providers and productsuppliers for Toyota’s North American entities

Manage the Toyota Financial Services Patent Program

Coordinate and oversee the preparation of patent applications

Coordinate and oversee the filing and prosecution of applications to register trademarks; understand and advise/counsel on the laws relating thereto

Provide advice and counsel, draft and negotiate agreements in support of special projects and business ventures

Provide advice and counsel to business units regarding potential supplier disputes

What you bring

Education: Jurisprudence from an accredited law school

Experience: 7+ years of relevant legal experience with law firm(s) and/or as in-house counsel

Admission to any U.S. state bar, in good standing, and able to obtain license to practice law in Texas

Experience with procurement and commercial contracts/transactions valued at more than $1 million

Added bonus if you have
